Advantec Ultrafilters are anisotropic permselective membranes that segregate dissolved solutes at the membranes surface on a basis of molecular weight under applied pressure.  Two polymer types cover a range of molecular weight cut-off limits and pH limits. Our P-type Aromatic Polyamide membrane is a hydrophilic membrane usable in a pH range of 2-12.  This membrane exhibits average protein absorption to the membrane surface(~0.02 mg/cm²).  The Q-type Polysulfone membranes are hydrophobic and offer the best pH resistance from pH 1-14.  Avoid exposure to ketones, hydrocarbons and halogenated solvents. 

Ultrafilters are typically used for the concentration of macromolecules, deproteinizing, fractionation of mixtures of macromolecules, binding studies, etc. Selection of the optimum ultrafiltration membrane for your particular separation/concentration problem is primarily dependent upon environmental resistance of the membrane under the proposed test conditions.

Membranes are impregnated with ethanol to maintain pore structure and control microbial growth. Can be rinsed with 10mL/cm² DI water prior to process fluid.
